Les relations de coopération entre le Burkina Faso et l’Inde se portent très bien ces dernières années. En témoigne, les échanges bilatéraux entre les deux pays sur la période d’avril 2025 à janvier 2026 se chiffrent à plus de 436 millions $ USD contre 224,4 millions $ USD sur l’année précédente.
Des avancées et des bons résultats à mettre à l’actif de S.E.M Om Prakash Meena, Ambassadeur de l’Inde au Burkina Faso.
« Nous collaborons dans le développement socio-économique notamment dans le secteur de l’agriculture, l’agro-alimentaire, des infrastructures, l’énergie renouvelable, les mines et la santé », a indiqué le diplomate indien accrédité au Burkina Faso dans un entretien accordé à la télévision nationale.
La collaboration vise également le renforcement du capital humain. Selon S.E.M Meena, « plus de 350 burkinabè ont bénéficié de renforcement de capacités et plus de 150 étudiants burkinabè ont intégré cette année, des établissements supérieures indiennes de renom pour bénéficier d’une formation d’excellence » Des efforts visent à développer les compétences, les connaissances et l’expertise.
Il faut noter que l’Inde est l’un des leaders mondiaux dans le secteur pharmaceutique notamment les médicaments génériques, les vaccins, les solutions de santé numériques. Pour cela,
une coopération avec l’Inde dans les secteurs pharmaceutiques et la santé pourrait considérablement renforcer les capacités nationales des systèmes de santé. Pour l’Ambassadeur S.E.M Om Prakash Meena, son pays est disposé à aider le Burkina Faso à relancer les usines pharmaceutiques gouvernementales, à mettre en place un système de santé optimale et des hôpitaux ultra spécialisés.
Le Burkina Faso est très attendu au 4e sommet Inde-Afrique prévu le 31 Mai 2026 à New Delhi. Le Premier ministre Indien S.E.M Narendra Modi a même adressé une invitation officielle au Président du Faso le Capitaine Ibrahim Traoré pour prendre part à cet évènement. Une invitation renouvellée par son S.E.M O.P Meena lors d’une récente visite au chez le Ministre burkinabè des Affaires Etrangères Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE.

Burkina Faso-India: Very dynamic cooperation based on solidarity and sharing with mutual respect

Burkina Faso is eagerly awaited at the 4th India-Africa summit scheduled for May 31, 2026 in New Delhi.
