Ambassador H.E. Mr. O.P. Meena welcomed Mr. Braima Barro, Director General of SOFITEX (Société Burkinabè des Fibres Textiles), at the Embassy of India in Ouagadougou today July 10, 2026, ahead of his visit to India to participate in Bharat Tex 2026, being held from 14–17 July 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
During the meeting, the Ambassador and the Director General discussed opportunities to further strengthen India–Burkina Faso cooperation in the cotton and textile sectors, with a focus on value addition, textile manufacturing, technology, investment and trade.
As one of Africa’s leading cotton-producing countries, Burkina Faso’s participation in Bharat Tex 2026 underscores the growing partnership between the two countries and opens new avenues for collaboration across the textile value chain.
