As usual, India reacts quickly to help countries experiencing crises. Since the start of the crisis caused by the sludge flow in Nepal, India has been at its side.
This Friday, a 4th flight delivered 11 tonnes of assistance to support search and rescue efforts in areas affected by the disaster.
The Indian assistance consists of a specialized technical contingent for tunnels as well as equipment for search and rescue operations, a team of forensic experts for DNA analysis as well as forensic equipment and relief supplies including blankets, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, plastic sheets and hygiene kits.
Additionally, 16 trucks carrying materials for a 230-foot (approximately 70 meters) single-lane modular steel bridge have arrived in Nepal.
Material for the installation of seven more Bailey Bridges will be supplied shortly. The technical teams for their installation should arrive shortly.
Since the start of the crisis, a total of 68.5 tonnes of relief materials including essential medicines, portable generators, food rations, water purification tablets and technical equipment have been airlifted to Kathmandu.
India also announces that its aid will continue to Nepal.
